Realizing several of you are on the fence in regards to heading this way I wanted to extend a heads up now rather than wait until this afternoon. We picked up 1”-2” of snow overnight and currently temperatures look to remain in the teens throughout the day with wind chills averaging around zero.

All things being equal, we’re in a bit of a holding pattern until mid afternoon Saturday which is to say that while bitterly cold there is an otherwise clear window of time to string up provisions out of reach of bears, dig out root cellars and head into town for lamp oil.

By all indications, the teeth of this storm in terms of snowfall, peak early morning Sunday although snowfall in general is expected to occur throughout the Blizzard Watch window. Anyone still on board with making the trip should plan an exit strategy around an assumed 10”-12+” of additional accumulation by the end of business Sunday.

The ongoing focus at this point remains on those who rely on oil as I’ve been moving the chess pieces around the board and liberating those driveways for several weeks now on an as needed basis. Stay tuned…
