Perhaps as commonplace as opening day of the Firebirds season or the Pops in the Park, the Piping Plover has again staked exclusive claim to the outer beach. The plover, currently tagged with Near Threatened status, has prompted officials to close trails south of the parking lot for a period of time yet to be determined. All those with valid ORV stickers rest assured that you may enjoy free parking in the main lot. On the residential side of the equation, a little more than half of the residents’ only trails remain open.
