With about 4 ½” on the ground at midnight, we’ll be hosting the exit of this system around 5 a.m. when actual Blizzard conditions are forecasted for the Outer Cape. Wind gusts have been reported in the upper 40’s.

Power outages Cape wide as of 11:30 p.m. were a tick north of 6,000. In our area, Orleans is currently showing 55 outages down from a high of 81 around 9:30 p.m… Eastham is at 132 which is a high thus far.

Sandwich is reporting 10”-13” of snow with diminished wind while the Lower and Outer Cape towns are trading notable snow accumulations for wind speed. There should be a marginal increase in sustained wind speed through dawn but by all indications, what we’re seeing is what we’re getting. I will follow up later this morning and depending on the real time departure of the storm, follow up checks will commence.
