Severe thunder storms are forecasted for later this evening. With rain slated to begin around 7 p.m., the heaviest rain and thunder will peak around the 11 p.m. hour with a chance of hail mixed in for good measure on the back of winds in the 20 mph range with gusts topping out in the mid 30 mph range. Various reports call for this system out of Newport to move over the Upper Cape and across the bay yet most Doppler images look like spilled paint. Should this storm track east there is a moderate chance of outages although temperatures look to remain in the mid 40’s as the rains diminish by Friday morning.
