For anyone keeping score from afar, we were in fact under a Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Warning late last evening but fortunately nary a single click of the heels was necessary as the sizable front slipped over us leaving the Cape’s most notable tree damage in the area of Harwich center. The highest reported gust thus far weighs in at 52 mph in Dennis and no actual tornado touch downs have been reported though the system was responsible for lightning strikes on several homes in Sandwich.
After a brief intermission, we now find ourselves in a Flood Watch until 2 p.m. today as a repeat performance, save for the high winds, is currently in route where pockets of rain promise the potential for 1-2 inches in one hour. I will make some cursory rounds though by all accounts, its business as usual.
